With over five million people in the U.S. each year affected by abnormal rhythms of the heart, Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) devices such as pacemakers and implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICDs) require the highest reliability.
Greatbatch has been a pioneer in the CRM market for more than 35 years. We developed the first implanted lithium iodine battery for pacemakers in 1972 and later developed the first lithium silver vanadium oxide battery for ICDs. Both of which have become industry standards.
Today Greatbatch is a leading supplier to device manufacturers, providing approximately 80 percent of the non-circuitry components that go into implantable pulse generators as well as implantable stimulation leads and provide device design services.
